2023-2024 COORDINATED SCHOOL HEALTH PLANS

  1. Clinton City Schools will join with the Clinton City Police and Anderson County Sheriff's Office to implement Handle with Care in the School System.

  2. Students in kindergarten and first grade will complete the Catch Healthy Smiles Program to promote good oral health.

  3. Students in 2nd and 4th grades will engage in the Compassion Project.

  4. Students in 3rd and 6th grades will learn about making healthy nutrition and physical activity choices through the Healthier Me Program.

  5. Students in 5th grade will participate in L.E.A.D. which uses the Too Good for Drugs program through the Clinton City Police Department.

  6. Students in 5th and 6th grades will learn about prescription drug safety in Generation RX presented by South College.

  7. Students in 6th grade will learn about Internet Safety through collaboration with Street Hope. In addition, Mental Health 101 will be presented by the Mental Health Association of East Tennessee. ASAP of Anderson County comes to talk to students about the dangers of vaping.

  8. We partner with the Lions Club to conduct Health Screenings for students in grades K, 2, 4, 6 and Vision Screenings for pre-K students to identify health-related barriers to learning.

  9. We partner with the Anderson County Health Department to offer Dental Screenings and Flu Shots free of charge to students.

  10. Partner with the Anderson County Education Foundation to assist with the Clinton 5K.
