We are thrilled to announce that author and musician Elaine Terry Mills will visit all three Clinton City Schools on Monday, October 21st! A native of Clinton, Mrs. Mills is an accomplished classical pianist, guitarist, and storyteller who is passionate about bringing music and literature to life for young readers.
Mrs. Mills creates engaging children's stories inspired by her own piano solos, with each book containing the sheet music for the song that complements the story. During her visit, she will be performing live with her guitar and reading from her collection of books, which includes My Little Puppy, The Halloween Parade, Little Lucy Llama, and her newest story, Marvin, the Mischievous Monkey. In this charming tale, Marvin learns important lessons about friendship and behavior after his mischievous antics in school push his friends away.
Elaine Mills shared her excitement for the upcoming visit on social media, saying: “I am SO proud to bring my books to the place where I grew up!! I will visit 600 kids! Bringing my guitar and singing my stories to them, and reading another I wrote recently called 'Marvin, the Mischievous Monkey.' I am over the moon excited for this opportunity so soon in my new career! Maybe old dogs CAN learn new tricks!”
Her visit will be a special treat for grades Pre-K through 3. Students will hear Elaine’s stories and experience her love for music firsthand as she performs some of the pieces that inspired her work.
Please join us in welcoming Elaine Mills back to her hometown for what promises to be an unforgettable day of storytelling, music, and fun!
