TENNESSEE CONSOLIDATED RETIREMENT SYSTEM (TCRS)
TCRS is a defined benefit plan that provides lifetime retirement, survivor, and disability benefits for school employees and their beneficiaries. Employees of Clinton City Schools participate in the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System.
The TCRS provides retirement benefits as well as death and disability benefits to plan members and their beneficiaries. Benefits under the defined benefit plan portion are determined by a formula using the member’s high five-year average salary and years of service. A reduced retirement benefit is available to vested members with five years of service who become disabled and cannot engage in gainful employment. There is no service requirement for a disability that is the result of an accident or injury occurring while the member was in the performance of duty.
These options are organized differently for certified teachers, classified employees, employees hired on or after July 1, 2014, and employees hired prior to July 1, 2004. Please click on the links below to be directed to the retirement information that applies to you.
New employees will be advised of all options during the onboarding process.
